designed as a small, lightweight, maneuverable fighter, the Holland Gnat has never been used by the RAF in this role. However, after redesigning into a double version, it took the niche of an excellent training aircraft, and thanks to the small size and the highest maneuverability of the aircraft was selected aerobatic teams RAF.Gnat entered service in 1962, providing beginners with an excellent first experience of piloting jet aircraft. With the advent of the hawk training aircraft, Gnat was removed from service in the late 70's. a Large number of aircraft were transferred to private operators, often these aircraft can be found on various air shows.
