Additional Information
Ju 88 could argue with "mosquito" for the title of the most multi-purpose military aircraft of the Second world war. This extremely necessary German aircraft was designed as a high-speed horizontal and dive bomber.
June 18, 1938 in the air rose serial prototype Ju 88 V6. It was followed by four more experimental aircraft ordered together with 10 pre-production Ju 88A-0.
the Ju 88 V6 Bomber like the V5 was equipped with two Jumo 2111B-1 engines, but the three-bladed screws were replaced by four-bladed ones, and the new chassis made it possible to reduce the volume of nacelles. The main chassis now had a rack with hydraulic control, with a turn of 90°. The aircraft was a four-seater, takeoff weight increased from 10,000 kg to 10,250 kg. Defensive weapons consisted of three mg-15 machine guns, bomb load in the bomb Bay reached 500 kg. Ju 88 V7, made the first flight on January 27, 1938, became the second standard in the series "A". Later it was converted into a prototype of the "hunter" series "C". The Ju 88 V8 and V9 differed from their predecessors only in that they received air brakes on the consoles, and the Ju 88 V10 was used to test the external suspension of bombs under the center wing. Air brakes and external suspension bombs became the standard for the first serial Ju 88A-0, descended from the Assembly line in March 1939
