Additional Information
Yak-9U - version of the Yak-9 with improved aerodynamic characteristics and a new engine M-107A. On February 23, 1942, during the tests, the aircraft developed a speed of 680 km/h at an altitude of 5800 m. Difficulties with the debugging of the propeller group delayed the beginning of serial production of the aircraft for more than a year, and the first serial Yak-9U entered the front only in October 1944, where they showed their complete superiority over German fighters. Until August 1945, more than 3,900 Yak-9U aircraft were built.
