the First ever takeoff from the deck of the ship was carried out on November 14, 1910 by the American pilot Eli. They also 18 Jan 1911 was made to land on the deck of the cruiser Pennsylvania ("Pennsylvania"). These two dates are the birthdays of carrier-based aircraft.
