Additional Information
Panzer II was designed in 1934 for the needs of the Wehrmacht, in need of light tanks. The Maybach engine, located at the rear of the hull, allowed the vehicle to reach a top speed of 40 km/h, with a power reserve of 200 km. the Armament consisted of a 20mm cannon and a 7.92 mm MG34 machine gun. Easy booking never allowed the car to participate in large-scale tank battles, the Panzer II was quickly supplanted by more armed and armored PZS.Kpfw. III and IV. However, the high maneuverability of the tank made it ideal as a reconnaissance. The tank was used throughout the conflict for reconnaissance and infantry fire support.
