the design Of the M48 series of medium tanks was started in October 1950, and the design and production of six prototypes was entrusted to Chrysler. Due to the outbreak of the Korean war, the M48 was assigned without prototypes and without any tests. Production contracts were also issued to Ford and General Motors, the first M48 being delivered in 1953. A number of technical problems postponed the use of the tank in significant quantities until 1958. A large number of variants and modifications of the M48 are used around the world, this set reproduces the M48A3 "Patton" in the form in which it was used during the Vietnam war. The main improvement of the M48 in comparison with the M47 was the more perfect shape of the Turtleback tower (turtle shell), this steel cast tower provided more interior space and better ballistic protection. The tank was powered by a 12 cylinder petrol engine AV-1790 power 865 HP outstanding road speed 48 km/h the Crew consisted of commander, gunner, radio operator/loader, and driver.
