Linear ships of the "Koenig" type - a series of German battleships of 1910.In total, 4 ships of this type were built:"Margrave", "grosser Elector", "Kronprinz" and the Lead ship "Koenig".Type of battleships "Koenig", and the battleship "Koenig" in particular, was designed and built in accordance with the "Maritime program" proposed by gross Admiral Tirpitz for the development of the German Imperial fleet.The lead ship of the series "Koenig" was laid in October 1911 at the Imperial shipyards in Wilhelmshaven.
