F-35 – a family of unobtrusive multifunctional combat aircraft of the fifth generation, created as part of the most ambitious program in the history of aviation – JSF (Joint Strike Fighter, "Single strike aircraft"). The main developer and manufacturer of the fighter was the American aerospace giant Lockheed Martin, the project also involved other, no less famous companies: Pratt & Whitney, Northrop Grumman, Rolls-Royce, Allison and British Aerospace.
the First flight of the fighter took place in October 2000, and in 2012 its operation began. Today, the F-35 is already in mass production (though in small-scale). Large-scale production of the aircraft is planned in 2019 year. By mid-2019, 194 aircraft were produced.
