the Yak-9DD was a modification of the Yak-9 with an increased range. It was intended to accompany the bombers in their actions on the deep rear of the enemy. Thus, in 1944 the Yak-9ДД were used to escort American bombers, making Shuttle flights to bomb targets in Romania. Fighters of this modification were mass-produced from may 1944 to September 1945. in Total, about 400 Yak-9DD were built.
