La-7 - wooden low-plan. The design of its airframe is largely repeated La-5FN last series. The main structural material is pine. Shelf wing spars were made of steel SOHGS, some frames made from Delta-wood. Wing - two-spar. The shape of the wing in the plan - trapezoidal, with rounded tips. Between the spars of the center section were two caissons glued out of plywood for gas tanks. Below in the center section there was a hatch for installation of the Central tank.
