Toyota has developed a new 3.2 L. V8 power unit with twin turbo. At low speeds, the engine produced more than 800 HP, and when using turbocharging – power exceeded 1000 HP. the Model with this engine and a new carbon fiber body was called 88C-M and was released in 1988. The release was announced in February, and in April, the prototype 88C-V has already begun test runs. The engine has met expectations. But the unusual design of the chassis with a short wheelbase and narrow track led to instability on the turns.
