In 1948, opened in Paris auto show where Citroen introduced their new model, the 2CV. The press was indignant: "a Terrible miscalculation of the company! That ugly duckling! What a view!". Indeed, the new Citroen 2CV looked unimportant: the body resembled a corrugated soldier's pot unattractive mouse color. But in reality it was a masterpiece of engineering, which became a cult car and was discontinued only in 1988. In France, Citroen 2CV received the affectionate nickname "de shvo" – "two horses"; French abbreviation "CV" corresponds to the Russian "HP" (horsepower), and stands for "cheval vapeur", literally – "steam horse".
