the Barque "Comrade" was built in 1933 in the shipyard "Blom & Foss" in Hamburg under the name of "Gorch Fock" in honor of the famous German painter of seascapes. It served as a training ship for the Navy of the third Reich. After the second world war in 1948 the sea vessel on reparations passed to the USSR. The port of his residence was Kronstadt. After his stay in the Baltic, the sailboat was transferred to the Kherson Maritime school, where it received practice, passed the school of courage and training of pupils of Maritime educational institutions. In 1957, the barque "Comrade" world fame brought the first voyage to the shores of India. The peculiarity of the sailing ship "Comrade" was the underwater part of the hull, made in a smooth without welding style, which raises the speed characteristics of the ship. Over time, the sailing ship came into disrepair and required major repairs. Although Ukraine is considered a country with a developed shipbuilding industry, it was not able to restore the historic ship.
