Amerigo Vespucci is one of the largest sailboats in the world, which was built at a shipyard near Naples in 1931. It has full ship rigging (i.e. it carries direct sails on all masts). High, black freeboard, which painted two white stripes, "old" form of the stern end, gilded ornaments give it the appearance of a three-deck battleship of the XIX century.

Amerigo Vespucci crossed the Strait of Gibraltar more than 100 times during its "life", about 20 times the Celtic canal, repeatedly the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles, and only once the Panama, Suez and Corinthian canals. Four times the ship crossed the equator line. In total, it covered more than 400,000 miles for more than 7,000 navigation days (approximately 20 years). During his service, he made more than fifty training flights lasting up to 5 months each and visited many ports in Europe, Africa and America.
