the Aurora first rank armoured Cruiser is a monument to Russian shipbuilding and the history of the Navy. The name "Aurora" cruiser was in honor of the frigate, particularly distinguished in the defense of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky during the Crimean war of 1853-1856. The ship was laid in St. Petersburg at the shipyard "New Admiralty" and came into operation in 1903. During its construction, the steel of the Alexander and Izhorskiye Zavody, which was one of the best in the world, was used. The armor of the hull had plastic properties that prevent its splitting in contact with the projectile. 
In 1905, the cruiser "Aurora" participated in the battle of Tsushima, breaking into Manila (Philippines) was interned (forcibly detained) by the Americans until the end of the war. In 1906, the ship returned to Kronstadt and after the repair made a number of long hikes, visiting many countries of the world. In the First world war, the cruiser was on patrol in the Baltic sea. It happened on the night of October 25 (November 7), 1917. The cruiser Aurora became one of the main symbols of the great October socialist revolution of 1917.
