Despite the fact that the first ship of the series came into operation back in 1984, "Pike" are still ultra-effective underwater weapons, with which you can neutralize the entire enemy fleet. According to NATO classification, the boats are assigned the designations Akula and Akula-2 (later versions). Several submarines of the project 971 are now undergoing modernization, which will bring them close to the combat capabilities of the 4th generation of the nuclear submarine "Ash".
