the USS Missouri was the third Iowa-class ship, adopted in 1944. During the Pacific war, he supported the attack on Kyushu and Okinawa and took part in such actions as the shelling of Hokkaido and the city of Muroran. On the deck of this ship, the ceremony of signing the documents of surrender of Japan September 3, 1945. With the end of the Korean war, Missouri was transferred to the reserve for storage, but was re-equipped with modern equipment and re-admitted to the US Navy in 1986. With Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, Missouri is sent to the middle East, where it helped the first combat launch of the Tomahawk cruise missile in the first stages of the Gulf War.
