Benjamin Franklin type submarines) is a series of twelve American strategic nuclear submarines of the second generation. The third series of nuclear submarines with ballistic missiles such as "Lafayette". The boats were armed with sixteen ballistic missiles for submarines "Polaris A3". In the early 1970s, all boats were rearmed with Poseidon missiles, and in the early 1980s, six boats received Trident-1 missiles.
