Additional Information
During the war, Railways were primarily used to transport troops, supplies, armoured vehicles and other necessary cargo. This type, WR 360, is a shunting locomotive used for sorting wagons, as well as for the needs of industry and ports. To the place of work locomotives of this type were transported by conventional locomotives, which were later used at short distances. Diesel locomotives at work do not produce thick clouds of steam, as do locomotives, unmask positions. In addition, diesel engines do not emit sparks, which makes their use much safer when transporting fuel and ammunition.Locomotives of this type, WR360 C12, was built only 10, in 1938. The nearly identical design, the WR360 C14, was produced in larger volumes. Until late 1944 was made 261 WR360 C14 in 7 factories including Henschel and Krupp. After the war, 44 more were built. The main difference between C12 and C14 was the axial load (12 and 14 tons respectively).
