Additional Information

the First Soviet jet aircraft were equipped with engines created in Germany. Under these engines were designed and mass-produced Yak-15, Yak-17.
the Next step in the development of jet aircraft was the purchase in England of more powerful engines NIN-I and Derwent-V. on March 11, 1947, the Council of Ministers of the USSR issued a decree instructing several design bureaus to develop new types of aircraft for them. In particular, the OKB-115 was entrusted with the creation of a front-line fighter with a Derwent-V engine (1625 kgf thrust) and a straight wing.
