McDonnell Douglas MD-11 is a development of the DC-10 liner. The new aircraft received an elongated fuselage of 5.71 m, a new tail, Winglets at the ends of the wings, more powerful engines and a modern control system that reflected all flight information on six monitors.
the Aircraft made its first flight on 10 January 1990, it passed certification in November of the same year and the first commercial copy was handed over to Finnair on 7 December 1990.
