Additional Information
Fw 30s were built in Focke-Wulf after the company acquired the rights. As the RLM had high hopes for a gyrocopter aircraft as a communications aircraft, an order for 36 aircraft was placed in December 1935, which even increased to 40 a few months later.< / p>
the Fw 30 differed from its predecessor mainly in that it had no wings. It had a 140 HP (103 kW) Siemens-Halske Sh 14 B rotary drive that ran on a two-bladed wooden propeller. To begin with, the three-bladed rotor, which was otherwise kept in rotation only by the airflow, could be brought to the required speed for a short time by means of a detachable shaft connection.< / p>
