the Chief designer of the project fighter R1001 Bruising during the visit to the firm "De Havilland" met with a new much more powerful turbojet engine "GOST". This engine with a centrifugal compressor of large diameter and became the main engine of the new fighter project. Thickened this engine out of the Saab J. 29 has received the name "Tunnan" ("the Bull" in Swedish). A small pilot's cabin was high above the ground, and the tail was mixed in a thin tail boom above the exhaust nozzle. The main landing gear was retracted into the fuselage, as the wing was very thin.
