MiG-15 – the first mass Soviet fighter, which was designed by OKB Mikoyan and Gurevich in the late 40-ies of the last century. It is the most massive jet combat aircraft in the history of aviation. The first fighter flight took place on December 30, 1947, the first production aircraft took off exactly one year later on December 30, 1948. The first combat units, which received the MiG-15, were formed in 1949. In total, 11 073 fighters of all modifications were built in the USSR.
