Additional Information
Developing a scheme of an experienced fighter V. 34 KB Avia company has developed several options for this aircraft, and have not found a real embodiment in the metal. Of the three possible modifications V. 234, V. 334 and V. 434, which had the main difference only in the power plant, none was chosen. Much more promising was the project Avia B. 534. According to the scheme, it was a classic single-seat fighter-biplane. Designer františek Novotny on a failed prototype Avia B. 34/2 put another engine Hispano-Suiza 12Ybrs and designated the aircraft B. 534/1. For the first time he took to the air in August 1933, the Design of the aircraft had one compartment and was a biplane with spaced wings of different sizes. N-shaped beveled struts supported the Central part of the upper wing above the fuselage. The wings were connected by N-shaped struts, and the ailerons were installed on the upper and lower wings. The two-spar riveted steel wing had a linen covering, and the fuselage frame from the steel pipes fastened with rivets and bolts in its front part was closed by removable metal panels, and in the tail - by a linen covering. The horizontal stabilizer was attached with struts, and separate landing gear with hinged mounting of the axles under the fuselage had a spring-oil shock absorber. The second prototype (B. 534/2) had a closed cabin, an increased rudder and a modified chassis with fairings of the main wheels. This aircraft on April 18, 1934 set the Czech national speed record - 365.74 km/h.
