OS2U – reconnaissance hydroplane used on battleships, cruisers and destroyers, which was launched with the help of catapults. Mass-produced from 1940 to 1943, was released about 1550 aircraft. OS2U was used for reconnaissance, search and rescue operations, sometimes as an anti-submarine aircraft. It was withdrawn from service in 1947.
