Entered service with the U.S. Army, replacing the helicopter Bell UH-1.
Flight tests of the experimental modification of the UH-60 were completed in 1974, in 1976, the helicopter won the competition for delivery to the us Army. Until 1985, the us Army purchased more than 300 uh-60 helicopters. By the mid-1990s, more than 2,600 helicopters had been built.
UH-60L — a variant of the UH-60A equipped with engines Т700-210С; the war Department of the United States was ordered 190 helicopters of this modification, which was carried out on the basis of helicopters UH-60A.
