Additional Information
the History of the creation of this aircraft began in 1961, when the design Bureau Mikoyan began work on a new generation of fighter, conventionally called the "MiG-23" and designed to replace the MiG-21, while only beginning to enter service with the air force. Initially, the new aircraft was supposed to be created using a number of structural elements of its predecessor. The prototype of such a machine E-8/1, piloted by test pilot G. K. Mosolov, first took off on April 17, 1962.
