four-Engine piston aircraft of the Royal air force of great Britain Avro "Shackleton" MR.3, named after the distinguished Anglo-Irish Antarctic Explorer sir Ernest Henry Shackleton, was developed using elements of the Avro Lincoln bomber. Various modifications of the aircraft were in operation from 1951 to 1990 year. The machine was used as an anti-submarine aircraft, marine patrol bomber, long-range detection aircraft. There was also a search and rescue modification of the Shackleton aircraft.
