the First flight of the prototype MiG-23UB (23-51/1, tail number 251) was performed on April 10, 1970 test pilot M. M. Komarov. In the same year, the aircraft was put into production at the Irkutsk aircraft factory. Later was created a variant of the MiG-23УМ, structurally close to a MiG-23ML. Serial production of the MiG-23УБ and MiG-23ML was carried out at the Irkutsk aviation plant in 1970-78 years.
