The MiG-8 was designed according to the "duck" scheme and was a flattened high-plane with a non-retractable landing gear with a nose wheel (the first nose strut on OKB aircraft). The high wing and engine placement in the rear fuselage gave the pilot excellent visibility forward and to the side. Engine M-11F 110 HP with two-bladed wooden propellers with a diameter of 2.35 m fully capped, except for five cylinder heads. The first flight of the MiG-8 made August 13, 1945,
