Bombers Ju 88A-5 produced with engines Jumo211B-l, G-1 or H-1, developed on the take-off mode 1200 HP, and three-bladed VDM screws with a diameter of 3.6 m. the First machine modification A-5 were made in the spring of 1940, and to enter the bomber squadron they began during the battle of England. In the spring of 1941 variant of the Ju 88A-5 was the most massive, almost completely displacing the A-1 from combat units. During this period, most of the survivors of the Ju 88A-1 were transferred to the training units, and some machines in the repair facilities have been modified to the level of A-5. The crews, who had the opportunity to fly on bombers of both modifications, preferred the Ju 88A-5 variant, which had better handling and maneuverability.
