Additional Information

F-14 tomcat is a supersonic fighter with two engines, a double cabin and a variable sweep wing. First took to the air on 21 December 1970. The aircraft was used by the US Navy as a fighter, defense interceptor and tactical scout from 1974 to 2006. Later, after the installation of additional avionics, the aircraft was used for point missile strikes. The F-14 was developed after the collapse of the F-111B project and was developed based on the experience of air battles against MiGs during the Vietnam war. In 1974 became the first to be based on the aircraft carrier "enterprise", which replaced the F-4 Phantom II. The first 12 F-14 was A prototype (sometimes called YF-14A). The US Navy received 478 F-14A, 79 were received by Iran. The last 102 F-14s were delivered with an improved tf30-P-414A engine. In addition, 80 F-14A were produced for Iran, but delivered to the US Navy.
