OH-6D was equipped with GTE Allison 250-C20B power 317kw, five-bladed rotor and T-tail; characterized by increased load capacity and greater take-off weight; offered under the program of advanced reconnaissance helicopter ASH (Advanced Scout Helicopter). He made his first flight in 1974, mass-produced in the United States in 1975-1983 years, as well as under license in Argentina, Italy, South Korea and Japan.
