Harrier II is a deep modernization of the first generation Harrier GR1/GR3, which first took off in December 1967. The original aluminum alloy fuselage was replaced with a composite fuselage, which resulted in significant weight loss and increased load or flight radius. New, one-piece wing increased area (about 14%) had greater strength. The British version of the Harrier II has a different avionics, an additional missile pylon in front of each of the wing of the chassis and a reinforced edge of the wing in the event of a collision with birds. GR 7 made its first flight on may 7, 1990, and the first operational deployment in August 1995 to Yugoslavia, the first application from the ship occurred in 1997.
