Additional Information
VC-25 is best known in the role of "Board number one" (Air Force One) — the so-called us Air force aircraft with the us President on Board. Released two aircraft with side numbers 28000 and 29000 are an early modification of the Boeing 747-200B, but with aerobatic equipment and engines from Boeing 747-400ER. Despite the fact that formally the name "Board number one" refers to the aircraft only at the time when the us President is on Board, often the term is used for VC-25 as a whole. VC-25 often work in conjunction with the Marine One — helicopter, which delivers the us President to the airport in circumstances where land transport is not suitable for this. If the first lady or Vice President of the United States is present on Board, but not the President himself, the aircraft is assigned the code designation "Air Force One Foxtrot". The plane was conceived under Ronald Reagan. The first aircraft was put into operation in 1990, under the administration of George Bush. The delays were associated with the installation of additional protection against electromagnetic pulse on the aircraft.
