KC-767 is a strategic refueling aircraft developed by the American company Boing. KC-767 is based on the long-haul passenger aircraft Boing 767-200ER. Initially, the aircraft was planned to supply the US air force to replace the KC-135 tankers, but after the initial order for 100 aircraft was rejected, it was decided to produce KC-767 for foreign customers. In July 2001, the Italian air force ordered four KC-767 in the Combi version (delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for 2005 year). In January 2002, the KC-767 was ordered for the Japanese Self-Defense air force. Its delivery is scheduled for 2006. It is also planned the creation of a tanker aircraft on the basis of the 767-300ER in conjunction with BAE Systems, Serco and Spectrum Capital. under the future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (FSTA) program for the UK Department of Defense.
KC-767 can carry up to 108944 liters of fuel in the main and additional tanks. Aircraft refueling can be carried out at a speed of 2271 liters per minute. In the transport configuration, the aircraft can carry up to 19 standard military containers 463-L.
