C-40 Clipper is a multi-purpose transport aircraft created by the American company Boing on the basis of the civil airliner Boing Model 737-700C. The aircraft is intended to replace the S-9 in service of the Us Navy aircraft.
the U.S. Navy has launched a programme to replace older aircraft 29 C-9B "the Skytrain" in 1997 when a contract was signed for delivery of first two aircraft C-40A "Clipper". The first flight of the new aircraft made in April 1999 years. The first aircraft was adopted by the US Navy in 2001 year. To date, the US Navy has received 12 Clipper aircraft, which are based at the naval air bases Fort worth (Texas), Jacksonville (Florida) and North island (California). The tenth Boeing aircraft was handed over to the US Navy in November 2010.
