Mig-31 'Foxhound' was developed as a replacement for the MiG-25 , the prototype made its first flight on September 16, 1975. At the same time, powerful D-30-F6 engines and a stronger aircraft body gave it maximum speed. More than 300 aircraft are in operation in Russia and Kazakhstan.
