MiG-25ПД looked different from option (O) extended nose piece that covers the hardware of the radar. The new aircraft received upgraded R15BD-300 engines with a resource increased to 1000 h, providing a drive of more powerful three-phase current generators. Aircraft (PD) were produced in Gorky until the plant switched to the production of the MiG-31.
