Additional Information
Almost from the very beginning of the development of the MiG-29, it was decided to make a twin-engine: the experience of operating front-line fighters of the 2nd, and then the 3rd generation showed that single-engine aircraft have insufficient survivability in a combat situation. The failure of a single engine almost inevitably led to a flight accident, at best it was possible to make an emergency landing, and the continuation of the combat mission was out of the question.
