Heinkel's Designers carried out the necessary modifications on the serial Non-70F-2, equipping the aircraft with a new engine and a three-bladed variable pitch propeller "Hamilton-Standard". As such, the vehicle received the designation Not-170A V1 and first took to the air on 17 April 1937.
