The Messerschmitt Bf-109 became a symbol of German air power in world war II. This aircraft belonged to the first generation of high-speed monoplane fighters of the 30s, and its later versions were produced until the end of the war.
Aircraft modification < br />
Bf 109E-3 produced from January 1939 years. They were powered by DB 601A engines and had the armament of two MG FF cannons and two MG 17 machine guns.
Bf 109E-3 participated in Polish, Norwegian, French campaigns. During the "Battle of Britain" in August-October 1940 years entered service aircraft modification Bf 109E-4. They were equipped with a new cockpit lantern and reinforced armor. Modification Bf 109E-7/Trop had a special dust filter and other "tropical" equipment.
Messerschmitt Bf-109E fighters also took part in air battles over the Balkans, North Africa and the Soviet-German front in 1941.
