Additional Information
This large twin-engine aircraft was built for the US air force to support infantry and anti-tank operations. Despite the heavy armor and weapons, the A-10 is a highly maneuverable aircraft, which is very important for dodging enemy fire. The Thunderbolt, also known as the " Warthog”, was practically built around a 30mm GAU-8 gun capable of piercing the tank's armor with high-speed ammunition. The aircraft was widely used in the Gulf war and the Iraq war with minimal losses, despite the significant opposition of the enemy. In the mid-2000s, the A-10 improved to version "C". The A-10C is the most up-to-date version of this reliable attack aircraft using state-of-the-art weapons systems.
