Additional Information
Douglas Skyraider was produced shortly after the end of world war II. Despite the beginning of the era of jet aircraft, Skyraider, with a traditional piston engine had an unusually long service life. The aircraft made its first flight in 1945 and was withdrawn from service only in 1975. It has been used in several conflicts, demonstrating high efficiency in Korea and Vietnam. Maneuverability at low speeds, high and robust design made the AD-4 the ideal attack aircraft. France used more than 100 Skyraider, many of which were used in the Algerian war. Some aircraft were sold to former French colonies such as Chad and Gabon.
