from 1985 To 1989 specialists of the company "Boeing" has worked on options for further development of the aircraft family "767" with an increased flight range and passenger capacity. Initially, it was planned to increase the size of the fuselage and perform a number of improvements to improve flight characteristics, but the results of studies have shown the need to create a new aircraft, which was designated "model 777".
Officially, the program of development of firm "Boeing" has started in October 1990. when a contract was signed with the airline "airlines Unite" to supply 68 aircraft. The most advanced scientific and technical solutions were used in the design of the aircraft. The design of the aircraft is carried out completely with the help of computer-aided design, this is the first passenger aircraft of the Boeing company with an electric control system (EMCS). To facilitate movement through the airport, the aircraft is equipped with a system of deflection sections of the wing consoles vertically upwards, while the wingspan is reduced by almost 13 m.
Experienced aircraft modification "777-200" made its first flight June 12, 1994 and in April, 1995. it was received a certificate. In the mass production of "777" is widely used international cooperation, so more than 20% of the work performed by Japanese companies. On the basis of the original aircraft, the following modifications were developed: "777-200 IGW", "777-300" and "777-100 X"- with a shortened fuselage to carry 250 passengers at a distance of up to 16,000 km.
In 1997, the 777-200 IGW aircraft made a record round-the-world flight on the Seattle-Kuala Lumpur-Seattle route with one landing in Kuala Lumpur. The route length of 37 344 km was overcome in 41 hours 59 min., including landing duration of 1 hour 57 min. At the stage of Seattle-Kuala Lumpur was set a world record for non-stop flight range for passenger aircraft 20 043 km.
