Additional Information
the development Of the FW 190 began in the autumn of 1937 on the order of the Reichsluftfahrtministerium for a single-seat fighter in addition to the Messerschmitt Bf109. The design was proposed by Kurt Tank, technical Director of Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau. The plan involved the use of a radial air-cooled engine BMW 801. The powerful engine, mounted in a sturdy frame, provided excellent control and a quick set of speed. The aircraft entered service in 1941, making sorties with Bf 109, the fighter soon won air superiority in the sky over the English channel. Occupying a niche of the main Luftwaffe fighter, FW190 was superior to his adversary the Spitfire Mk.V in almost every aspect and held the advantage until the arrival of the Spitfire IX in July 1942. The fighter was constantly modified. Version A-3 used an improved engine BMW 801Dg power 1700 HP. Armament increased from four to six guns. During the Second world war, many Luftwaffe squadrons allowed pilots to apply individual images, in addition to the original color scheme, unique squadron markings, lower fairing, Elevator and wingtips were used.
