Additional Information

the F-107A was designed as a fighter-bomber version of the F-100. However, significant design changes led to the renaming of the F-100B to F-107A. The first flight took place on September 10, 1956, during the tests, the speed of Mach 1.03 was reached. The speed of Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound) was reached on 3 November 1956. It was built three prototypes F-107A, which were intensively tested. However, as the main fighter-bomber by the end of 1957 was chosen Republic F-105 and F-107A did not go into series.
