the First Soviet Intercontinental jet passenger liner Il-62 has been in operation since 1967. Il-62 was created at the request of Aeroflot, suggesting the possibility of a non-stop flight over long distances. Therefore, for example, the modification of the Il-62M maximum range exceeded 11 thousand kilometers. On the Il-62 was set several world records for speed and range, and in 1975 it was made a flight from Moscow to Seattle (USA) through the North pole. For several decades, the Il-62 served as a government aircraft ("Board number 1") and was the flagship of the Soviet air fleet.
