on April 10, 1912, the Titanic left Southampton on what turned out to be its last voyage. On Board were 2224 people, of which 1316 passengers. In the advertising campaign of the owner of the ship has used the statement about the unsinkable "Titanic", and call such a statement was not groundless. Thanks to its design ,the Titanic could stay afloat when two of the sixteen watertight compartments were flooded. It was really hard to imagine the damage that could sink this ship. Despite this, April 15, 1912, having received many small holes due to collisions with the iceberg, just 2 hours and 40 minutes after the collision, the Titanic sank. Of the 2224 aboard managed to escape only 711 years.
